Multiple Disabilities Programs

Program Description

Shore has programs designed for students, preschool to 21 years of age, with multiple moderate to severe disabilities. Instructional techniques include a total communication approach, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) as well as sensory diet activities. Physical and occupational therapy services include assistance to families in obtaining equipment for home and school through contracted orthotic and wheelchair vendors. Two classrooms are equipped with mat tables for positioning. Related services of vision therapy, orientation and mobility as well as home training may be accessed. Students enrolled in these programs have access to assistive technology throughout their school day. Speech language, occupational and physical therapy services are provided in accordance with the IEP.

Admissions Procedure

Our admissions process for students begins with a referral from our member school districts. Please contact the Director of Special Education in your school district for more information about sending a student to Shore Educational Collaborative. Inquiries are also welcomed from non-member districts.
